Overview
At Bexley Publishing, we want you to feel confident about investing in your book. This policy explains when you can get a full or partial refund, how cancellations work, and how to make a request.
If your service agreement includes different refund terms, the agreement takes priority.
Our satisfaction commitment
Before any refund, we will always try to fix the problem first. If you are unhappy with a draft or design, tell us what is wrong and we will revise it within the rounds included in your package. Most concerns are resolved this way.
When you can get a full refund
You are eligible for a full refund if:
- You cancel before any work has started on your project.
- We are unable to start your project within the timeline agreed in your proposal.
- You were charged twice or billed by mistake.
When you can get a partial refund
If you cancel after work has started, you can get a refund for the parts of the project that have not been delivered yet. We deduct the cost of work already completed, based on the milestones in your proposal. For example:
- Writing and editing. Chapters or editing passes already delivered are non-refundable. Remaining chapters or passes are refunded.
- Cover design. Once initial concepts are delivered, the design fee is non-refundable.
- Publishing. Once your book has been formatted or submitted to a platform, the publishing fee is non-refundable.
- Marketing. Campaigns already launched and ad spend already paid to third parties are non-refundable. Unused campaign time is refunded.
What is not refundable
We cannot refund:
- Work you have already approved.
- Projects that are completed and delivered.
- Third-party costs paid for your project, such as ISBNs, copyright registration, printing, stock images, and advertising spend.
- Requests based on sales, reviews, rankings, or other results, which we cannot guarantee.
- Projects paused for more than 60 days because we did not receive feedback or materials from you.
- Changes of mind after work has been delivered.
Cancelling a project
You can cancel your project at any time by emailing us in writing. We will stop work as soon as we receive your notice, send you any work completed so far, and calculate any refund owed based on the sections above.
How to request a refund
Email [email protected] within 14 days of the delivery or issue you are raising. Please include:
- Your full name and the email address used for your project.
- Your project or invoice number.
- The reason for your request.
We will review your request and reply within 5 business days.
Processing time
Approved refunds are sent back to your original payment method within 7 to 10 business days. Depending on your bank or card provider, it may take a few extra days to appear in your account.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a dispute with your bank or card provider. We can usually resolve issues faster directly. If a chargeback is filed without contacting us first, we may pause work on your project until it is resolved.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. The policy in place when you signed your agreement applies to your project.
